THE DORN METHOD

  • Are you struggling with back, neck, shoulder, hip or knee pain?
  • Are you finding the benefits of treatments you have tried are short lived?
  • Are you looking for a treatment to treat your pain or discomfort but also teaches you how to keep on top of it yourself?

The Dorn Method was developed in Germany over 40 years ago by Dieter Dorn. It focuses on the causes of common Back and Joint pain and today is used by thousands of therapists all over the world.

Dorn is a gentle manual non-manipulative therapy, which is very safe and involves no ‘clicking’ or ‘crunching’ sensations which some people fear or dislike. It is also suitable for people of all ages.

The aim of Dorn Method therapy is similar to Osteopathy and Chiropractic, i.e. to help people who suffer from musculo-skeletal pain and dysfunction. Dorn is a gentle and very safe manual therapy developed to correct misalignments of the Spinal Column and other joints, which can be contributing to pain and grief.

Rather than remaining passive, a person undergoing Dorn therapy works together with the Dorn Therapist at all times using dynamic techniques designed to help vertebrae and joints slip more easily back into their natural positions without using any heavy force or thrust moves.

I use the therapy in conjunction with massage to help the effects last longer I have experienced that simply adjusting the structure without addressing the tissues surrounding the area results in the tissues pulling the structures back out of alignment.

The great thing about the Dorn method is that the techniques can easily be shown to clients so that they can implement them into their own lives.
